Phillip Grant
Phillip Grant is a seasoned executive with a rich background in both market leadership and large-scale infrastructure projects. Formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the Hunts Point Produce Market, Phillip led a team and oversaw the daily operations of the nation’s largest wholesale produce market. He managed the market’s unique structure, supporting twenty-nine wholesaling merchants, to supply New York City’s essential food infrastructure. Under his leadership, the Hunts Point Produce Market made significant contributions to the community, even during the pandemic, by partnering with local food rescue and service organizations to donate surplus produce. Phillip also spearheaded a capital campaign to revitalize the storied market. Through his efforts, Hunts Point Produce Market has raised $395 million dollars to date.
Phillip previously served as Senior Vice President and Director of Construction for the Asset Management Operations division of the New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). He led the division's capital project portfolio, valued at more than one billion dollars. Key projects included NYC Ferry, Brooklyn Army Terminal Phase V, the Made in New York Campus (MiNY), and various capital projects in the Hunts Point area of the Bronx. Phillip is a Licensed Professional Engineer in New York and is a certified construction manager. He holds a BS in Engineering from Fairleigh Dickinson University and an MBA from Mercy College.
