New Challenges. New Normals. Ready to Respond.
Dear Friends,
We are living in a time of great change. Like so many in our community, The Sylvia Center has been adapting to the “new normal” while ensuring our vital work continues without interruption. One change we are excited to share with you is the appointment of Jonathan Cetnarski as Executive Director.
With more than 20 years of corporate experience, Jonathan brings a diverse background transforming businesses and driving growth, including building Mastercard Worldwide’s data visualization business prior to the digital age and the advent of Big Data. Additionally, as CEO of Natural Gourmet Institute, Jonathan transformed the school from New York City’s best kept secret to a globally acknowledged center for plant-based, health supportive culinary education.
Jonathan has stepped into this role at a historic moment – as the COVID-19 pandemic spread across the globe, it has illuminated the tremendous challenges our most vulnerable communities face when it comes to healthy eating and food access.
“The work of The Sylvia Center has never been more needed. For 13 years, this organization has dedicated itself to empowering our kids and communities through programs that teach the connection between food and health. This education needs to be amplified and expanded to respond to today’s urgent needs and I am honored to join the effort”, says Jonathan.
Now more than ever, we are committed to equipping our communities with the knowledge and skills to make healthy choices now and in the future.
With Jonathan’s leadership, we are dedicated to finding more ways to collaborate with our communities as we navigate this “new normal”, and ensure that our students and their families have the support to build independent, healthy eating habits that last a lifetime.
Together, we can empower our students and families to lead healthy, full lives.
Wishing you and your family health and happiness this Memorial Day Weekend,
The Sylvia Center Team
