The Sylvia Center successfully pivoted to a virtual classroom this year, supplying both a space for families to learn together, as well as partnering with community organizations to provide fresh food meal kits full of ingredients to our communities.
This fall alone, The Sylvia Center engaged over 250 students and families, including new participants from outside our traditional geographic reach, including New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Texas, and Wisconsin to name a few. In addition, The Sylvia Center has distributed over 450 fresh food meal kits to compliment chef-led virtual cooking classes.
And now we need your help.
As The Sylvia Center has become a go-to resource for community centers and schools, our services are in-demand more than ever before.
In 2021, our programming is projected to reach over 950 students and families, providing 4,700 fresh food meal kits with our current robust schedule and known interest from community partners.
